From the Journal Tribune: “A state regulatory agency last week revoked the license of a Saco mortgage broker after finding that he exaggerated the income of his clients to improve their chances of obtaining loans. The Office of Consumer Credit Regulation took the action against Capital Mortgage Group Inc. and its owner, Randall L. Petit, after detaining that he fabricated lease documents in an effort to show that his clients were receiving non-existsant rental income.”

A car operation by Theodore Wilcox, 18 and a car operated by James Lombardo, 35, were stopped for a traffic on Main Street when Lombardo’s vehicle was struck in the rear by David Marcotte, 16, of Old Orchard Beach. From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “A bold attempt to burglarize the Scales Hardware store in Saco took place on Thursday evening about 11 o’clock, but was evidently interrupted before the actual entrance was made. The large pane of glass on the Pleasant Street side of the story was broken and the fall of the glass perhaps scared them away. The damages were made, and upon investigation of the area, nothing was assumed to be missing.”
