From the Journal Tribune: “All the hammering and sawing and painting this week are making a house – and a home – for a Biddeford couple. Steven and Donna Prevail and their four children will move into their new home on Newfield Road by the end of July. The three bedroom ranch style house is being built in a week by bevy of volunteer contractors and individuals. The home is one of 400 houses across the country (being built) this week by a Blitz Build, under the auspices of Habitat for Humanity.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Renald Chretien, 17, of Hill Street in Biddeford, is reported in fair condition today at Webber Hospital where he is receiving treatment for fractured ribs and other injuries suffered at 8:45 p.m. yesterday in a fiery crash on Buxton Road, Saco, which took the life of his cousin John Chretien, 19, of Biddeford. John was killed instantly, and according to medical examiners, was pinned in the flaming wreckage for some time before rescue workers were able to extricate his body.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “An Italian has been living in this city for the past four years and working on his trade as a tailor, was arraigned today before Recorder F.P. Harris on a warrant alleging attempt to kill a Biddeford woman and was let off on a suspended sentence. The man promised to leave Biddeford July 1 and go home.”
