There’s something about an old dog, something so sweet about their gray face. Their long gazing eyes tell their life’s story, their experiences, their joys, loves and losses. A mysterious wisdom is held within them and yet their puppiness is still present as well. One such old dog is Marmaduke. His long life has brought him to Lincoln County Animal Shelter in Edgecomb. He needs a home. He has been at the shelter for too long. He needs a home where he can live out the time he has left. A home where he can feel loved and appreciated. Where he can sleep in his own bed and be proud of his own home.

Marmaduke is a pitbull mix, though he really looks like the worlds largest Boston Terrier. He isn’t too big or too small, he’s just right. Marmaduke has a little limp in his front leg when he walks. He starts out a bit stiff, but then limbers up nicely. He is now on medication for his joint pain, which is helping greatly. His coat is shiny and smooth and he has a wonderful smile.

Marmaduke is such a sweet, gentle boy who loves to be loved. He gives gentle; kind kisses and shows a big smile and a wagging tail when given affection. He needs someone to love him, someone with a big heart. Someone who understands that he is an older gentleman and that he will have some issues because of his being elderly. He is still pretty energetic for his age and he is very interactive with people and is engaged in life. He deserves a forever home and to feel like the special boy he is. He should have someone to love him, someone who Marmaduke will give so much love back to – could that someone be you? If so, please contact Lincoln County Animal Shelter at: (207) 882-9677.

And, if you do go to the shelter, don’t forget to visit another elderly gentleman, Justice, a fourteen year old, small terrier poodle mix, who also needs a home and someone to love!
