NAPLES — The Wells boys track and field team won the Western Maine Conference Division 2 championship on Saturday at Lake Region High School.

The Warriors swept the relay events on their way to the team title. The team of Hatim Sharaf, Zander Lumenello, Tyler Dewey and Alec Pinette won the 400 relay, while Lumenello joined Mitchel Stapleton, Brian McMahon and Wesley Moody to win the 3,200 relay and McMahon and Sharaf teamed with Connor Littlefield and Mitchell Libby to finish first in the 1,600 relay.

Wells would also get wins from Nicholas Parrott in the 1,600 race walk and Kent Kellar in the shot put. Kellar was also second in the discus, while Stapleton was second in the 3,200 run and Libby was the runner-up in the 800.

Old Orchard Beach was led by Zach Hirst, who won the long jump and was second in the triple jump.

The OOB team of Erik Hogan, Hirst, Ian Regan and Zach Brasier was second in the 400 relay and Hogan, Hirst, Brasier and Connor Rice ran to a runner-up finish in the 1,600 relay.

Hogan was also second in the 200 meters for the Seagulls, who finished sixth in the Division 2 team race.

Division 1 Boys

The Kennebunk boys track and field team finished fourth as a team on Saturday.

Kennebunk was led by Travon Bradford with a win in the shot put and Lucas Deely with a victory in the 1,600 race walk.

Kyle Livermore added a second-place finish in the javelin for the Rams.

Falmouth won the team title with an impressive 177 points.

Division I Girls

The Kennebunk girls also finished fourth as a team on Saturday. Falmouth won the team title with 157.5 points, while York was second and Greely third.

Caitlin Wolff led the Rams with a pair of first-place finishes. The standout won both the 200 and 400 meters.

Kennebunk’s Chloe Smith, Louise Holway, Morgan Sharp and Hannah D’Orso finished second in the 3,200 relay.

Division 2 Girls

The Wells girls earned a third-place finish thanks to several strong performances.

Anna Libby and Madison Szczygiel led the way as Libby won the 300 hurdles and Szczygiel won the 800.

Wells would also get a second-place finish from Emily Cottis in the 100 hurdles and the team of Szczygiel, Taryn Lambert, Elana Fortin and Heidi Fortin finished second in the 1,600 relay.

Old Orchard Beach was led by Cierra Albert with a fourth-place finish in the 400 and Ava Clark with a fourth-place finish in the high jump. The Lady Gulls finished in seventh place as a team.

Gray-New Gloucester captured the Division 2 team title.
