From the Journal Tribune: “An unoccupied dwelling at 19 Winter St. went up in flames early Saturday morning. In addition to local fire and police investigators, the state Fire Marshal’s office was called in to examine the scene. The Sanford Fire Department was called to Winter Street at 1:40 a.m. and arrived three minutes later to find flames in all windows, said Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Rowe.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “In trying to clear an insect from her car, Miss Alice Jewell, 15, of Idlease, lost control of the vehicle yesterday morning and struck a tree on Brown Street. Taken to the Maine Osteopathic Hospital, Portland, the girl reportedly suffered the loss of several teeth and facial abrasions.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “The Biddeford high school students who are to take part in the dual track meet with Deering High which was postponed Memorial day morning on the account of weather are working out daily under Coach Pidgin and it can be said if they are not victorious against Deering High it will not be on account of being in condition.”
