
Starting at the age of 14, Mr. Darling spent his life on the water working as a commercial fisherman. He served in the US Army during World War Two.
David will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his sense of humor and his undying love of sweets.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Madelyn C. (Brown) Darling who died in 1997 and his step-daughter Sandra Kellett.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey and his wife Sue Darling of West Bath, Peter and his wife Lorraine Darling of Harpswell, a daughter Mildred and her husband Richard Griffin of Harpswell, a special friend Marge Vincent of Massachusetts, 18 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held from 4-6PM on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Veronica Gonsior officiating. Private interment will be held in New Meadows Cemetery, Brunswick.
