From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “There was a meeting of the 300th anniversary committee in the rooms of the Business Men last evening at 8 o’clock when the election of a president was the principal business, Principal Arthur F. Cowman of the Spruce street grammar school accepting that position, much to the satisfaction of those who have been most interested to see the celebration carry.”
