From the Journal Tribune: “People with a dream or a vision for a new use to The Ballpark will be able to make their views known at the all day session Saturday. Members of the Ballpark Steering Committee are sponsoring the third in a series of all-day public forums designed to allow residents to be involved in the planning to create a community vision for The Ballpark.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Preparations are being completed for the annual auction of painting and smorgasbord supper by the Old Orchard Beach Art Association being held Saturday at Robinson Memorial Masonic Hall, West Grand Avenue. It will be from 6-7:30 p.m. followed by a second auction at 7:45 p.m.”

100 years ago

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “April has always been considered a weepy sort of month but the one drawing to a close bids fair to be rather more so in this respect, since the precipitation up to this morning was 5.7 inches which is quite a bit of water. The figures are from the rain gauge of the Pepperell Manufacturing Co. and are accurate, the company taking much care in keeping these kinds of records. Ordinarily the April precipitation is in the vicinity of four inches or less.”
