From the Journal Tribune: “Recreation Director Jason Webber will don a bunny suit this Saturday and scatter the Loranger Middle School playing fields with 3,000 plastic eggs for the first-ever Easter Egg-stravaganza. The event is the second in a growing trend of incorporating community based activities through the Recreation Department.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “During a short meeting last night of the Daughters of Penelope in Ahepa Hall, Pleasant Street, Saco, a discussion was held on articles to be donated and sent to the Penelopian Home in Greece, for the annual bazaar. A list of items for the bazaar was read and officials said these will be taken to the next meeting. The charter was draped and prayers were recited during a memorial service for Mrs. Fay Collaros Moody. Following business portion the club members had refreshments at the Wonderbar Steakhouse, Washington Street, Biddeford.”

100 years ago

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Miss Josephine Ledoux, who has conducted a lodging house at 346 Main street, has taken a lease of Hotel Royal in the Quimby and Sweetsir block on Main street and will open a lodging house there in the near future. She expects to occupy her new apartments about Friday. Miss Ledoux, who has experience as a lodging house mistress, will make it her aim to conduct a first class establishment and her many friends have no doubt that she will succeed.”
