I’m pleased to endorse Susan Deschambault for State Senate District 32, which includes the towns of Alfred, Arundel, Biddeford, Dayton, Kennebunkport and Lyman.
Susan is running in the special election on March 29 to fill the seat vacated by David Dutremble. I believe that Susan has the right perspective and qualifications to represent our community and our state well, and I know she will work hard to move our district forward in education, human services and public safety.
In addition, with her background in social work and her many years of experience with the Department of Corrections, she is uniquely positioned to help take on our growing and very concerning opiate problem.
I urge all voters to get out and vote in the special election on Tuesday, March 29. It is the only item on the ballot, and every vote is important.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
