From the Journal Tribune: “A 61-year-old Deering Ridge Road man died Tuesday afternoon when his 1993 Harley-Davidson veered off the roadway and struck an embankment. Maine State Police said the man was vaulted off the motorcycle and struck a tree. An eyewitness administered CPR, but the man was dead at the scene.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “The Ides of March lived up to its reputation for a Biddeford youth today but turned out to be a lucky day for a Saco dog. Patrick L. Duross, 18, of 5 Winter St., Biddeford, told police he was driving along the road near the corner of Main Street when a dog ran across the vehicle’s path. In an attempt to avoid hitting the animal, Duross pulled his car and hit a hydrant, causing damages estimated at $25 to the property of Biddeford-Saco Water Co. Damages to the Biddeford man’s car were estimated at $60.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Two fast games of basketball are in the programme at South Berwick tomorrow night, when the Biddeford high boys and girls basketball teams will link up against the outfits representing Berwick Academy. The local students have been practicing daily for the contests under the coaching of Instructor Pidgeon and they feel confident of returning home victorious.”
