Two people were hospitalized Thursday evening after a Jeep ran into a Buick stopped in a line of traffic at the intersection of Cottage and River streets in Sanford. Sanford Police Chief Tim Strout said the Jeep, operated by Mary Moore, 69, of North Waterboro, hit the Buick and kept going until hitting a porch at 34 Winter St. No one inside the building was injured. Strout said Moore was taken to the Sanford campus of Southern Maine Health Care with unspecified injuries. The driver of the Buick, Brenton Allaire, 68, of Springvale, sustained a head laceration, and was taken to the Biddeford campus of Southern Maine Health Care. Strout said no charges are pending, as it appears Moore had suffered a medical issue while driving.
