From the Journal Tribune: “The legal bills have been paid, the plans have been approved and with Monday’s decision by Hannaford Brothers not to appeal a York County Superior Court decision, a Stop & Shop supermarket will officially be coming to Kennebunk. Monday was the final day that Hannaford could legally appeal Justice G. Arthur Brennan’s Feb. 7 decision, which upheld the Planning Board’s approval to allow GI Kennebunk to build a Stop & Shop store on Route 1 North.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Biddeford police are investigating the theft of a car from Paul’s Motor Sales garage, Route 1, Biddeford. The vehicle was taken last night after 6 p.m., police say. The building was broken into and the office and work area were ransacked. A case of cold drink bottles was taken from the building and left in another car which was unable to be started. The vehicle taken was a 1963 black and white four-door station wagon Rambler.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Deputy Sheriff Granville H. Murphy made a seizure Monday of a box containing 24 quart bottles of whisky, which were found in charge of one of the local express companies. The box was addressed to a man on Emery street. The liquors were taken to the rum room and labeled.”
