BIDDEFORD — Join the Animal Welfare Society at the PetSmart Store at Biddeford Crossing for the national PetSmart Adoption Weekend.
In addition to the cats onsite at PetSmart, AWS will have dogs available for adoption. The AWS website has photos of the adoptable cats and dogs. Come to the store from 4-8 p.m. on Feb. 12, 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 13, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 14 to find the pet for you. AWS staff and volunteers are eager to assist those looking to adopt and the process can be completed right in the store. For adoption fees and more information about adopting a pet from the Animal Welfare Society, visit animalwelfaresociety.org/adopt/how-to-adopt.
Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis.
All pets are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on all vaccines.
If potential adopters currently have a dog, it is recommended that they bring it for a dog introduction at the event.
Dog adopters will need to bring or purchase a leash and collar.
Cat adopters will need to bring or purchase a carrier.
PetSmart Charities donates $35 to AWS for all adoptions at the store throughout the weekend. For more information about the event, visit animalwelfaresociety.org or call AWS at 985-3244 or call PetSmart at 283-6546.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
