“We came out with good energy and we got some good looks … and it seems like all the scores probably had assists on them because we moved the ball really well,” said Brunswick coach Sam Farrell.
Biddeford coach Liz Bell was impressed with the Dragons’ offense, while her team struggled to find the back of the net.
“Early on we weren’t really sure what to expect coming out and they shot the ball really well and, unfortunately, we didn’t,” said Bell. “We got shots, we got to spots that we wanted to get to and the ball just wasn’t falling for us … on the other side, it was falling for them.”

Unfortunately for the Tigers, that would be as close as they would get as the Dragons finished the second on a big run and took a 38-17 lead into halftime.
The two teams would play an even third period as both squads finished with eight points in the frame. The Tigers continued to fight and actually outscored the Dragons 16-12 in the fourth quarter, but it wouldn’t be enough to get the win.
The win puts Brunswick at 9-4 on the year – and extends the Dragons’ impressive winning streak.
“After starting 0-4, it feels pretty good,” said Farrell.
Bell believes the Tigers are still trying to hit their stride after finally getting their expected starting five on the floor a few games back.
“At this point in the season, a lot of teams are peaking, you know they have played with full personnel from the beginning. I still consider us a really inexperienced team with us just gaining two players back four games ago,” said Bell.
The Biddeford coach has been proud of how her girls have continued to work hard.
“We still aren’t fully healthy, so we are battling adversity with that, but each and every game they get better, and they keep working hard, their heads are still in it,” said Bell. “They are staying in it, they are staying positive and that’s all we can ask for at this point.”
Biddeford (2-12) was led by Brittany Roy with 15 points and Grace Martin added 12. Brook Davis would chip in with eight points, while Charlotte White finished with four and Erin Martin added two.
The Dragons had 10 different players get on the board with Sabrina Armstrong leading the way with 19 points and Madeline Suhr adding 12 points in the win.
Brunswick, which nailed six 3-pointers as a team, would also get nine points from Charlotte MacMillan and Emily Black chipped in with five points.
