The men entered the home and held the occupants at gunpoint as they ransacked the premises, according to a press release from Maine Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland.
Stolen were two shotguns and a rifle, several hundred dollars in cash, medical marijuana, four cellphones and two laptop computers.
McCausland said in a phone interview that he did not have any information about whether the accused knew the family or had specifically targeted the home.
State police arrested Xavier Watson, 22, of Brenton, New Hampshire; Andre Thomas, 20, of Lawrence, Massachusetts; Vincent Casazza, 19, of Newmarket, New Hampshire; and Reynan Mora, 23, of Lowell, Massachusetts. Some of the items reported as stolen were found on Mora, said McCausland.

Extradition proceedings will begin to return the suspects to Maine, McCausland said.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
