The Town Office, at Mallett Hall, is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday 8:30 a.m.-6:30 and closed Friday.

Meetings

The Planning Board will meet Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m., in Mallett Hall.

The Board of Selectmen will meet Monday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m., at Mallett Hall.

The Planning Board workshop for back lot and single lot ordinance review is Wednesday, Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 8 a.m., at Mallett Hall.

Folk dancing

resumes Jan. 23

An evening of inernational folk dancing is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23, from 5-10 p.m., at Mallett Hall in Pownal. It will be a Latin America theme evening, with food, music and traditional dance.

Rabies clinic

set for Jan. 23

Pownal Veterinary Hospital is sponsoring a rabies clinic for cats and dogs on Friday, Jan. 23, from 9 a.m.-noon, at the Pownal Town Office. For more information, call 688-4843.

Food pantry on Wednesdays

The North Pownal United Methodist Church Food Pantry on 851 Lawrence Road is now open every Wednesday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The pantry never knows from week to week what it will be getting. Fellowship, coffee and snacks are served before food distribution. The pantry helps those in need and welcomes everyone. Donations are appreciated. The church office number is 688-4938.

North Pownal United Methodist Church worship service is Sunday at 9 a.m., led by the Rev. Raymond St. Pierre. Sunday School for children and adults begins at 10:30 a.m. St. Pierre’s hours are Wednesday from 8 a.m.-noon and by appointment only in the afternoon. Thursdays by appointment only. The First Parish Congregational Church, Route 9, worship service is Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Sunday School for all ages is 11 a.m.-noon. Bible Study meets at the church on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Choir has started and anyone wishing to join is welcome to come to rehearsals on Tuesdays at 6:15 p.m. For more information, call the Rev.
