From the Journal Tribune: “Sanford builder Patrick Fagan Jr. has purchased the old Sanford Mills building on Washington Street with a view to transforming the structure into more than a dozen condominiums and office space. The tranfer of the old mill building to Fagan represents the second sale of a Sanford mill in the last year.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Several local woman escaped serious injury yesterday afternoon when the car in which they were passangers was involved in an accident on Route 1, Saco, near the Ocean Park Road. The women were riding in a car driven by James Murphy, 19, of 60 Summer St, Biddeford, which was stopped for a traffic light when it was struck from the rear by a vehicle operated by Ivonne Pelliter, 63, of 10 Pearl St, Biddeford, who said she was unable to stop on the icy road.”

The society is the principal one of its kind in this section of Maine. The object of the York County Children’s Aid Society is to help neglected, abused and destitute children of York County without respect to race or creed, to place them in a more wholesome surroundings under moral influences.”
