Girard, 19, serving on the USS Annapolis, told his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Girard of 69 Saco Ave., he has no pity for the participants of marches and anti-war protest meetings, and considers them ‘misguided.’ The ones he really pities, he said, are ‘the guys on shore. They are catching hell.’”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “There are 10 applicants in this city for aid under the new act passed by the legislature for the needy blind. City Clerk Locke and Dr. D. E. Dolloff, the physician appointed by the municipal officers, have made personal calls on the applicants for aid, and it was planned to have the municipal officers sign the applications at a meeting which was scheduled for Monday evening, but did not materialize.”
