BIDDEFORD — Thomas Hooper, 46, who is the manager of NAPA Auto Parts on Main Street in Sanford, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief in Biddeford early Wednesday morning, police said in a recent press release.
Officer Rob Simmons noticed Hooper, whose brother is the manager of NAPA in Biddeford, crouching behind a truck parked in front of Past and Present Auto on Alfred Street, a NAPA service center, at about midnight Wednesday, according to the release.
Simmons responded with other Biddeford officers who discovered Hooper had hidden a pellet gun next to the truck he was crouching behind and that there were newly damaged windows at the auto shop, the release states. Police said Hooper also had a 9mm handgun in his own truck and a magazine for that weapon in his shirt pocket.
Sanford Police Officer Blair Hodge also found damage at the NAPA in Sanford and is investigating to determine if the damage is old or new, according to the release. Police checked and found no damage to the NAPA in Buxton.
