I would like to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation to Saco voters for electing me mayor. I am honored to be our community’s representative and humbled by the trust placed in me.
I would also like to thank all of the candidates who chose to run for office. The fact that they were willing to step up is indicative of their commitment to Saco. We are a better community because of their efforts. Kudos to all of the volunteers and employees who work so hard to make voting an easy, open and fair process.
One of the benefits of campaigning is the opportunity to meet voters throughout our city. Ranging from the need of a new school, to energizing our downtown to controlling cost, voters were open to sharing their ideas, concerns and aspirations for our community.
Now the work begins to make those aspirations a reality. Working together we can ensure that Saco remains the best place to live and work in Maine.

Saco Mayor-elect

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
