Westbrook police are encouraging commuters who use the Bridge Street bridge to seek alternate routes Tuesday afternoon and evening.
From 3 p.m. to midnight, traffic will be stopped intermittently, causing significant delays, on Bridge Street between Main and Brown streets, said Capt. Sean Lally.
Construction of a new bridge is the reason for the disruption.
