From the Journal Tribune: “In a rare opportunity to share local talent with the state, the Biddeford High School (BHS) Chamber Singers group will be performing for a special audience in Augusta tonight. The chamber singers, an auditioned group of about 30 students, will perform … for the Maine School Management Association’s annual banquet at the Augusta Civic Center.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Saco Police Capt. Robert Foran said today that means of entry by a person or persons who stole an estimated $5,000 worth of jewelry and other items from Levasseur’s Jewelry Store on Main Street last night are still unknown. The break … resulted in the loss of over 100 men’s onyx, ruby and garnet rings, 35 men’s watches, electric shavers, both women’s and men’s cigarette lighters, cigarette cases, a calendar watch, flashlights and other jewelry items.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “The shower of last night came as rather a surprise, although people who have lived in Maine more than 24 hours should not be greatly surprised at anything the weather might do. But just the same it is a bit out of the usual to have a thunder shower so late in the season.”
