From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Investigating the complaint of Leon F. Milliken of outer Main street, Saco, that he had lost a number of hens, City Marshal Cobb found the bodies of 10 hens on Wedsnesday, lying in the gutter near the corner of Maine Street and Ocean Park avenue. There was no sign of a bag near, in which the hens might have been put, but the bodies were found piled up in a heap in the gutter.”
