BRUNSWICK — On Oct. 22, Brunswick will become the classroom for the fourth session of The Community Institute (TCI), a program of Friends of Midcoast Maine, according to a news release.
“Community Economics” will feature topnotch national instructors as well as state and regional experts to address the issues and decisions that build strong communities and improve tax bases and community life, and the decisions that can make things worse for property owners, taxpayers and businesses.
Faculty includes Charles Marohn of Strong Towns, Joe Minicozzi of Urban 3 LLC, Yellow Light Breen of the Maine Development Foundation, Rob Brown of Business Owners Solutions, Kenneth Greenleaf of MaineStream Finance, Jonathan LaBonte of the city of Auburn, Kevin Bunker of Developers Collaborative and Jane Lafleur from Friends of Midcoast Maine.
Community Economics will be held at The Daniel in Brunswick on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration is available online at www.communityinstitute.org. The registration fee includes all materials, breakfast and lunch, and access to all speakers. Some partial scholarships are available based upon financial need.
