Bean Supper

The American Legion Field-Allen Post 148 will hold a bean supper at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18 at the Windham Veterans Center located in the back of the Hannaford’s Mall complex, North Windham. Proceeds from the event will go to the Post Scholarship fund for local High School graduates. Tickets are $8, under age 12, free. For more information, call 892-1306.

Paint Party

A “Paint Party” will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals, River Road, Windham. Bring your own brushes, trays, etc. and the Society will provide the paint and structures that need painting. Waivers will have to be signed. Under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Windham Lions

Windham Auto Show

On Sunday, Sept. 13, the Windham-Raymond Athletic Boosters Club will hold the Windham Auto Show at the Windham Mall, behind Hannaford. Show entry, 7-11 a.m., spectators 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Admission, Show Car is a $5 donation, adults tickets are $5, seniors/students, $3 and children 5 and under, free. Rain or shine. Historical Society

Visit the Windham Historical Society on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings, from around 10 a.m. to around noon or later. See the old-fashioned kitchen display, artifacts from the gunpowder mill and much more. Check out the new driveway and parking lot, and work in progress on the soon-to-be open schoolhouse. The Society is at 234 Windham Center Road, next to the superintendent’s office. Democrats Caucus

The Windham Dems, “WDTC,” will be holding their annual Municipal Caucus on Monday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. at Windham Public Library. They will be taking nominations for two Town Council seats (at large and west), two RSU 14 School Committee seats and the Town Clerk seat. A regular Windham Dems meeting will be held directly after the caucus. All Democrats are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Senior Shopping

Windham Parks & Rec provides a bus on Wednesday mornings that goes to North Windham for seniors who need to get groceries, go to the bank, get prescriptions filled, or pick up a few things. Please call the office 24 hours ahead of time to reserve your seat. Call 892-1905. There is a small fee.

Veterans Support

Veterans Support Officer Matt Haley will be at the Windham Veterans Center on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. If you have questions about benefits and are a veteran or dependent of a veteran, stop by. No appointment is needed. VSO Haley is available on the second and fourth Wednesdays each month. Band Concert

On Saturday, Sept. 19, The Wicked Good Band will be in concert at 7 p.m. at North Windham Union Church on Route 302 in Windham. Tickets are $12 for adults $10 for students and seniors. The box office opens at 6:15 p.m. For more information, go to www.mwamconcerts.com.
