From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Deputy Sheriffs Granville H. Murphy and Rex A. Wormwood went out on the Kennebunk road in the vicinity of the iron bridge, Wednesday night about 9 o’clock to investigate complaints that some men with flashlights were attempting to hold up parties in automobiles. They met Will Chappell who lives in the neighborhood and he told the deputies that he had been out on the road with his flashlight and no doubt, it was he that scared the automobile parties.”
