SACO — Connor MacCalister had been planning an attack to kill several random people in a grocery store, according to police reports.

MacCalister, 31, of Saco, was arrested Wednesday evening for murder in relation to the fatal stabbing of 59-yearold Wendy Boudreau at the Saco Shaw’s supermarket that afternoon.

MacCalister confessed to the stabbing and said she had been planning this random attack for about a month, according to a police affidavit from State Police Detective Kristopher Kennedy.

“She said she was angry with life and she wanted to get back at someone. She had planned to go to Shaw’s Supermarket and kill several random people,” wrote Kennedy.

MacCalister told Kennedy that she planned on targeting a small elderly woman she knew wouldn’t resist, and saw Boudreau in the parking lot and followed her to the ice cream aisle, where she grabbed Boudreau from behind and slit her throat.

Two men in nearby aisles of the store, Benjamin Williams and Thomas Wright, heard screaming from the frozen food aisle and came to assist Boudreau and ordered MacCalister to the ground, according to Kennedy’s report.

Shaw’s employee Alexandra “Sandy” Gogos said she saw a woman with a shaved head wearing camouflage stab an older woman, according to Kennedy’s report. Gogos asked MacCalister why she stabbed Boudreau, and MacCalister replied, “I’m off my meds. She looked at me wrong.”

MacCalister gave a similar response when questioned by Wright about why she stabbed Boudreau, according to Kennedy’s report. She told him, “I’m off my meds and I didn’t mean to do it. She looked at me funny.”

MacCalister is scheduled to appear at York County Superior Court today at 1 p.m.
