AUBURN, Mass. (AP) — The sister of a Massachusetts foster mother responsible for a 2- year-old girl who died last weekend is defending her sibling’s parenting skills.
Reading from a statement, Tamari Malpass said her sister is a caring and loving parent and the little girl died of a “freak accident.” She said she is confident the investigation will show that there was no “intent or malice” in the little girl’s death.
That girl and another girl were found unresponsive in an Auburn home last weekend. The older girl died, and the 22-monthold girl remains in the hospital in what authorities described as “dire” condition.
The investigation is ongoing and no one has been charged.
The little girl who died is to buried Friday.
