The town of Scarborough will host its 19th annual event celebrating summer on Friday, Aug. 21.
The family-friendly Scarborough SummerFest will be held at the high school sports complex, 4-10 p.m. Come out and enjoy live entertainment, a petting zoo, a raffle and much more, including the annual 5K road race.
In addition, local nonprofit organizations will be on hand, offering food, drink and a variety of fun activities. And, don’t forget to stick around for the gigantic fireworks display, which will start at 9:15 p.m.
Other events include a trivia game, pony rides, a photo booth, a dunk tank, a climbing wall, Thomas the Train, the Extreme Air Jumper and a display of big trucks.
Vendors selling crafts and other novelty items will also be on the fairgrounds.
The schedule is as follows:
• 4-6 p.m. – Road race registration at tennis courts
• 5:30 p.m. – “Steve Wronker’s Funny Business” comedy show
• 6 p.m. – Kid’s 1-mile race
• 6:30 p.m. – Adult 5K
• 7-9 p.m. – Montgomery Road Band, country and classic rock
• 9 p.m. – Announcements and raffle winners
• 9:15 p.m. – Fireworks
Parking is provided in the high school parking lot off Municipal Drive. Handicapped parking is available at the Wentworth School.
