From the Journal Tribune: “Despite the cancellation of the World Lobsterfest, members of Skydive New England kept scheduled plans to parachute onto the beach Friday afternoon near The Pier. … Each summer, Skydive New England recruits award winning professional jumpers from around the world to perform such activities. This year is the 21st anniversary of the skydiving center located in Lebanon.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “The eighth annual art festival of the Old Orchard Beach Art Association closed the three day afternoon and evening sessions Friday evening at the Jordan Memorial Hall, Temple Avenue, Ocean Park. The awards were presented to the winners by Adelbert M. Jakeman, Superintendent of the Ocean Park Assembly.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “The new combination motor fire truck ordered by the town of Old Orchard arrived this afternoon and is now housed at Central fire station where it was inspected by a large number of people. The truck is one of the largest and up-to-date patterns of motor fire apparatus and was brought from the Abbot Fire Apparatus company of Boston.”
