BATH — The city’s second annual Random Acts of Kindness Day happens downtown Saturday, Aug. 15.

Comedian John Ater starts things off at City Hall at 10 a.m., and live music follows, while more than 15 “Kindness Stations” will be set up on Front Street.

Child artists will paint portraits, and Plant Home residents will offer sentiments at the “Wisdom Station.” The Bath Garden Club is donating flowers from members’ gardens, while the Cosmopolitan Club will provide a table of free items.

The Art Van will offer its “spin art” machine, where a relay knitting station will allow participants to knit one of 100 rows, creating scarves to be distributed at the Bath Mobile Food Truck this winter.

There will also be a listening booth, old dogs to hug and pat, and a “Dress up and Dance Station.”

Morse High School students Bryanna Ringrose and Taylor Bisson created and organized last year’s debut event. The Bath City Council has issued a proclamation declaring the day Bath’s Official Kindness Day.
