BIDDEFORD — Good Shepherd Parish will host a double anniversary reception to honor milestone anniversaries for Fr. Hubert J. Paquet and Fr. Renald D. Labarre on Sunday, Aug. 16, from noon to 2 p.m. The reception will be held at the St. Joseph Church hall on 178 Elm Street in Biddeford. Prior to the reception, Fr. Paquet and Fr. Labarre will concelebrate the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph.
Ordained to the priesthood on June 4, 1955, by Bishop Daniel J. Feeney, Fr. Paquet is celebrating his 60th year of priesthood. Prior to entering seminary, he graduated from St. Andre’s Parish School in Biddeford.
On May 21, 1960, Fr. Labarre was ordained to the priesthood, also by Bishop Feeney, and will be honored for his 55 years of priesthood. Fr. Labarre is a Biddeford native and served as pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Biddeford as part of his active ministry.
