Maine Connections Academy — the state’s first virtual public charter school — will host online information sessions over the next two months for interested families to learn more about how virtual school works. The tuition-free virtual public charter school for grades 7- 12, is now enrolling students for the 2015-16 school year.
Interested families are encouraged to learn more about how virtual school works and if it’s the right fit for their students by attending an online information session by Maine Connections Academy over the coming weeks. Sessions are 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 28 and Thursday, Aug. 6.
Families will have the opportunity to speak with an MCA faculty member or representative, explore the program and curriculum, and ask questions about the enrollment process during this real-time interactive online information session. To register for this session, or view the schedule of events, visit: www.MaineConnectionsAcademy.com/Events.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
