A small airplane made an emergency landing at Province Lake Golf Club in Parsonsfield Saturday morning.

The pilot, Gary Soucy, 66, of Brewer, landed his 1965 Piper Cherokee 140 on the second hole at 7:50 a.m. due to bad weather.

No one was hurt, the York County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Soucy had left the Waterville airport earlier for Oshkosh, Wisconsin, for a plane enthusiast event but torrential rain and fog forced him to land.

He was alone in the plane. There was no damage to the aircraft.

The FAA must inspect the aircraft before it can fly again.

The airplane was pushed to the side, and the golf course remained open for business, police said.
