BIDDEFORD — On Saturday, residents and business owners are invited to attend an informal meet and greet with Jim Bennett, who will become Biddeford’s city manager next month.
Mayor Alan Casavant announced the event, which he called “Coffee with the City Manager,” in a press release on Wednesday.
Bennett and Casavant will be at Biscuits and Company, at 25 Alfred St., from 7:30 a.m – 8:30 a.m. “Citizens and business owners are invited to stop by to say hi and welcome Jim to his new home,” the press release states.
“Over the last few years, I have made myself available for citizens to visit a couple of times during the year in a setting outside of City Hall. I have found that this informal setting is well received by those that stop by,” Bennett is quoted saying in the release. “I am looking forward to meeting with people that are part of the community that my family and I are moving to.”

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
