Alan Bradstreet practices the “long horn” in the back yard of his Pownal home. Following a hiatus of several years, Bradstreet and others in the North Pownal Plastic Pipe Players performed last Saturday in the Freeport Fourth of July Parade. Bradstreet made the horns from recycled plastic items including baseball bats, lawn ornaments, beach pails, planters, piggy banks, vases, plastic pipe and more. The pipe players are best known for performing their favorite, “When the Saints Go Marching In,” with a solo by their PVC foghorn quintet, led by Maestro Craig Dietrich.
