
Sign ups take place at the Recreation Center at 220 Neptune Drive between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Boys Summer Basketball
Brunswick High School varsity boys basketball coach Todd Hanson and his players will be directing this year’s program for boys entering this fall in grades 3-9, taking place at Brunswick High School.
Emphasis will be placed on skill development, fundamentals and games with neighboring recreation departments, such as Auburn and Lewiston, and Gray-New Gloucester. The program is run in a low-key, relaxed manner where participants will have fun improving their game.
Home games will be played during the time each age group regularly meets and away games at the convenience of the host team. Extra time will be required for travel to each away game. Bus travel will be provided.
Participants will receive a schedule at the first session, with the registration fee including a T-shirt.
The program will be Monday Thursday, starting July 6 and ending on July 23. The times for each age group are as follows:
— Grades 5-6: 9:30-11 a.m.; Fee is $72 for residents and $95 for each nonresident.
— Grades 3-4: 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; Fee is $60 for residents and $79 for each nonresident.
— Grades 7-9: 12:30-2 p.m.; Fee is $72 for residents and $95 for each nonresident.
The deadline to sign-up for this program is Thursday.
Youth Field Hockey Clinic
If your child is in kindergarten through second grade come Oct. 15, and has interest in playing field hockey, this clinic is for them!
Brunswick High School varsity field hockey coach Karin Iuzzolino-Paquin and her players will be offering a Monday night clinic beginning this Monday and concluding on July 27 at the Brunswick Junior High School between 5-6 p.m.
The goal of this clinic is to provide a fun introduction to the sport for those who may have never played. Players will focus on basic skill development through a series of fun games that help players become comfortable with a stick in the field, as well as focusing on fundamental skills and game situations.
The cost is $20 for residents and $26 for non-residents, with a T-shirt being included in the cost.
Harrow Sports and a grant provided by the U.S.A. Field Hockey program has provided the equipment for the clinic, allowing anyone to try out the game before investing in their own gear.

Golf for Kids
Mt. Ararat High School varsity golf coach Gerry Caron will be offering a youth golf program (ages 9- 15 come start of the program) at the Highland Green Golf Club in Topsham on Tuesdays, starting this upcoming Tuesday between 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Gerry has been a golf instructor in the local area for many years and has been involved with all age groups. He has an extensive teaching background with youth and teenagers, with his positive style offering a fun experience for all when it comes to learning the game of golf.
This class will include how to properly grip your club, proper stance, iron play, chipping, putting and golf etiquette.
Each class is limited to 12 golfers, with the deadline for sign-up set for Thursday.
The cost of the program is $66 for residents and $88 for nonresidents.
