Catherine L. Ledue

Catherine is valedictorian of Sanford High School Class of 2015. The daughter of Tom Ledue and Claire Ledue, Catherine, who lives in Springvale, plans to pursue global studies at Colby College in Waterville. She has run cross country and track and field throughout her high school career, and was active in soccer and basketball in her freshman year. Catherine was a

member of the Art Club, is her class vice president, and was on the homecoming, Mr. SHS and prom committees. She took part in the civil rights team, was on the mascot committee, and took part in environmental club, the health and wellness club, Key Club and National Honor Society. She’s been on the math team, project graduation, took part in a program aimed at reducing sexism and violence, and was a member of the Sanford Near-Space Automated Photography Club, among other high school pursuits.

Jennifer Rose Calnan

Jennifer of Acton is ranked no. 2 in the graduating class. She is the daughter of Debra Calnan and Stephen Calnan. Jennifer plans to study accounting and will attend Bentley University in Waltham, Massachu-setts in the fall. She’s been involved with Junior Varsity soccer, dance club, took part in the reducing sexism and violence program, ran varsity track and was a member of Spanish Club. Calnan played tennis her freshman year, and is a member of the National Honor Society. As well, she has been a student representative to the school board and during her junior and senior years she has been an assistant photographer at Studio by the Pond. She’s worked as a shift leader at Ted’s Fried Clams throughout high school.

Nisha Manher Patel

Nisha, daughter of Manher Patel and Vaibhavi Patel, is ranked third in the SHS Class of 2015. The Sanford resident plans to attend the University of Maine in Orono in the fall. She’s been involved in a number of activities, including Spanish Club, National Honor Society, Environmental Club, Key Club, the reducing sexism and violence program, Dance Club, Civil Rights Club, the Senior Hip-Hop Dance Club and more. She’s attended dance classes since age 8, and volunteered at Waban, helped with the United Way Day of Caring, volunteered at Springvale Public Library, was a bell ringer for the Salvation Army and more. She was a summer employee at York Wild Kingdom and will be working at a Wells supermarket this summer.

Noah Miller

Forth in the Sanford High School Top 10 is Noah. He is the son of Elise and Mark Miller of Acton. Noah plans to study biomedical physics at Northeast-ern Univer-sity in Boston, Massachu-setts, in the fall. He has been a member of Strategies for a Stronger Sanford throughout his high school career. He has been involved in Key Club, was president of his junior class and secretary of his senior class. Miller is also a member of the National Honor Society.

Andrew Paterson

Andrew is no. 5 on the SHS Top 10 list. He is the son of Stephenie and Karl Paterson of Sanford. A music buff, Andrew has been a member of Sanford High School Marching Band throughout his high school career. He’s involved with Impact Percussion and with Jazz Band. Paterson plans to study mechanical engineering at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts in the fall. During high school he has been a robotics mentor at St. Thomas School and has taken part in Boy Scouts.

Sarah Wright

Sarah is the daughter of Sue Wright of Springvale. She is no. 6 in her graduating class. She plans to study geography at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah in the fall. She ran cross country and track for four years, was a member of Strategies for a Stronger Sanford for four years and has been a member of the Civil rights Team, Key Club and the Swim Team. Sarah has been class treasurer for the past three years and was a member of the prom and homecoming committees. She took part in the Orchestra Honors Festival, and volunteered at Springvale Public Library. As well, she is a leader of the young women’s group for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Rachel Fink

Rach is no. 7 on the Sanford High School Top 10 list for 2015. She is the daughter of Lewis Fink III and Maryann Fink and lives in Sanford. She plans to study sociology and history at Emmanuel College in Boston, Massachusetts in the fall. She is secretary of her school class, played varsity soccer throughout high school, took part in varsity swimming, ran track and field, played basketball and more. She has been a member of the Key Club, Dance Club, prom and homecoming committees and is a member of the National Honor Society. Fink has previously volunteered at Goodall Hospital’s emergency department, volunteered for various soccer clinics, took part in the Portland Phoenix soccer club, and volunteered at Shaker Hill Apple Festival and at senior game night.

Ethan Dube

Ethan is the son of Darcy and Dennis Dube of Sanford. He is ranked eighth in the Sanford High School Top 10 for 2015. Ethan plans to study biology and pre-medicine at the University of Presque Isle. He has been a member of Sanford Key Club and Strategies for a Stronger Sanford throughout his high school career and is president of both this year. He has been a member of the youth council, mock trial team, film club and ran cross country and track. Ethan has logged 250 community service hours during high school.

Victoria Clendaniel

Victoria is no. 9 on the Sanford High School top 10 list for 2015. She is the daughter of Aaron and Samantha Clendaniel of Springvale. She plans to study biology at Emmanuel college in Boston, Massachusetts in the fall. She has been a member of RSVP throughout high school, and is a student representative of the Sanford School Committee. Victoria has run track and field throughout high school, is a member of the math team, the Art Club, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Key Club and took part in an extended learning opportunity at the Cancer Care Center of York County. She has been a volunteer at Springvale Public Library, Kid’s Club, the Day of Caring, Crazy Eights Math Club, and was a recipient of the Dartmouth Alumni Book Club Award.

Vanessa Caron

Vanessa is ranked 10th in the Sanford High School Class of 2015. She is the daughter of David Caron of Sanford. Vanessa plans to study biology at the University of Maine in Orono in the fall. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Sanford High School Marching Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band and French Club. Caron has played Taps at numerous military and veterans’ ceremonies, and takes part, with the marching band, in various parades.
