A two-vehicle crash shortly before noon on Wednesday closed a stretch of Saco Street near the Westbrook Public Services garage.

Police said a man driving a pickup truck was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Sgt. Timothy Morrell of Westbrook Police Department said the man was unresponsive when police arrived at the scene. A Florida couple in the other vehicle was also transported.

No names were immediately available at the scene.

The Westbrook Animal Control Officer was en route to take charge of the two black poodles in the Florida car. The dogs did not appear injured.
