BIDDEFORD — A 26-year-old Biddeford man has been arrested and charged with burglary.
Just after 11:30 a.m. Monday, Biddeford police arrested Paul S. Desrosiers, of Pool Street, and charged him with the Class B crime, Biddeford Deputy Police Chief JoAnne Fisk said Monday afternoon.
Earlier that day, she said the Biddeford Police Department received a call from a resident of an Oak Place apartment complex, who reported hearing footsteps in a second-floor unit believed to be empty at the time.
When officers responded to the scene, they found Desrosiers attempting to leave the unit with stolen property, said Fisk. After being confronted by the officers, he attempted to flee on foot, she said, but didn’t make it very far before being apprehended.
Desrosiers was also charged with the possession of marijuana as well as another count of burglary in connection to a burglary that occurred on Summer Street in March.
Desrosiers was taken to the York County Jail in Alfred, where he is being held on $2,000 bail, according to a jail official. He is scheduled to appear in Springvale District Court tomorrow.
