I was a bit confused (recently) while reading the first column of The Village Idiot. I can’t seem to figure out why anyone would think this would be of interest to the readers.

Newspaper reading is going the way of the dinosaur, and I suspect the Journal has a small young audience of readers, if any at all. This type column could not be for an older age group, hence my confusion.

Those of us who still do read, and have been around for some time, still struggle through the many changes that newspapers experience while trying to stay afloat. Some changes are hits, many are misses. This column for me is a miss, as its content holds nothing of interest. The shallow, selfish, clueless mindset of teens not yet fully mentally developed, that can’t think their way out of a paper bag is not even slightly humorous.

No disrespect meant to the author, but this is not a move forward, and makes me question my loyalty of 40 plus years of Journal reading.
