Lake Region High School to present ‘Oklahoma!’

The Lake Region High School Drama Club presents Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!” at the Lake Region High School Auditorium on April 9, 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. and April 11 and 12 at 2 p.m.

Directed by Eugene Long, it’s a true classic not to be missed with all your favorite talented Lake Region students and musicians.

Advance tickets are available for $8 students & seniors over 65 and $10 adults ($10 and $12 at the door). Families with young children can bring the whole family for only $25 maximum. Advance tickets are available at Aubuchon Hardware in Naples, Bridgton Books, Hawthorne’s Attic (just south of Cry of the Loon on Route 302 in South Casco) and the high school’s main office. Bridgton Art Guild seeks exhibit entries

All Bridgton Art Guild members are invited to submit work for the upcoming exhibit at Gallery 302 in Bridgton. The theme of the exhibit will be “Rhythms.” Up to two pieces per artist are allowed (space permitting), normal exhibiting requirements apply (no giclees). Due date is March 27. The show will run from March 28-April 24.

Prison public hearings scheduled

The Windham Legislative Delegation of Sen. Bill Diamond and Representatives Mark Bryant and Patrick Corey have announced the following:

Maine Department of Corrections is planning to build a new 72-bed Women’s Pre-Release Center in South Windham at the Maine Correctional Center. Several “community discussion” meetings have been scheduled. The first meeting was held on Wednesday, March 18. The second meeting will be held on Saturday, March 21, at the Windham Town Council Chambers from 10 a.m.-noon. The public is invited to attend. This is an opportunity to ask questions and get information about the new facility.

A follow-up meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, from 10 a.m.-noon at Windham High School.

Author series continues at Raymond library

Jim Baumer, the second speaker in Raymond Village Library Maine Author Series, will be at the library on Wednesday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m. Baumer has written about baseball, Moxie and now with his new book of essays, “The Perfect Number: Essays and Stories Vol. 1,” Baumer talks about his experiences and different aspects of Maine’s unique way of life.
