CAMDEN — The Camden Snow Bowl is hosting its Third Annual Cardboard Box Race on Saturday at the Camden Recreation Department at 20 Barnestown Road in Camden.

Registration is from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the event location, with the race beginning at 1:30 p.m. The registration fee is $25 per box. All boxes must be at least 25 percent bare (untreated/coated) cardboard on the sliding surface. Wax coatings of any kind are prohibited from the sliding surface. Wood, plastic or metal are also not allowed as decorations, though other decorations are permitted.

Boxes must be made out of cardboard only and may only taped, glued, sewn or stapled, with all metal staples being covered by duct tape on both sides of the box.

Helmets are required for all riders and you must take your box with you at the conclusion of the event or a fine will be in place.

Awards will be given for: Most in a box, Most creative, Fastest, Most spirit and Best costume.
