
VASSALBORO — Roberta Earline Glazier passed away after a brief illness on Feb. 23, 2015.
Roberta was born in Brunswick, Maine, on Oct. 27, 1936, to M. Earnestine and Alfred Miller. She is a graduate of Brunswick High School.
Roberta met the love of her life, Thomas Glazier, in her early 30’s, they married in 1972. Together, they blended their young families and created a loving home. Tom and Roberta lived a life filled with family, travel to Alaska, national parks and the West Coast.
Roberta was employed by the Augusta School Department and was a manager of Food Services when she retired. Roberta was an avid gardener and tended to huge vegetable gardens, berry patches and fruit trees. She was a skilled quilter and excelled at needlework. She will be remembered as an active lady who took great care of herself and those dear to her.
Roberta enjoyed daily walks and volunteering at the local food pantry. She was an active member of Center Vassalboro Baptist Church where she had many friends and attended bible study. Roberta mothered four children, each of whom she cherished deeply and had special relationships with.
She will be lovingly remembered by many including her husband of 42 years, Thomas Glazier of Vassalboro, and daughters Barbara Gardner, Portland; Carol Dove and her partner, Michael Vernon, Athens; Tammi Frost, Augusta; and son, Thomas Glazier, Vassalboro. She is also survived by her brother, Kermit Miller and his wife Dee, Libby, MT. Roberta will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Stephanie Brown, Everett, WA; Andrea Gardner, Seattle, WA; Kathy Smith, Damariscotta, ME; Omie Dove, Solon, ME; Konrad Frost, Readfield, ME; Hunter Frost, Augusta, ME and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Center Vassalboro Baptist Church, 1 Crowell Hill Road, East Vassalboro. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Roberta’s life immediately following the service at the Calumet Club in Augusta.
