FREEPORT — The Freeport Community Library is presenting its annual Armchair Travel Series, taking place at 6:30 p.m. the first four Mondays in March.
Each year, the library finds local residents to share their recent travels abroad. The globe-trotting community members give presentations with their own memories of trip highlights. Each presentation is approximately 60 minutes long, including a question-and-answer session.
Tea and coffee is served and it’s free to attend. As the series has grown in popularity, the library advises those planning to attend to arrive early to get a seat.
This year’s itinerary includes:
. March 2 — River cruise the Netherlands with Sally Walsh
. March 9 — Visit Athens, Greek islands, Dalmatian Coast and Venice with Chris Leighton
. March 16 — Hike the Scottish Highlands with Dan Nickerson and Beth Edmonds
. March 23 — Explore the Falklands and Patagonia with Chris Hastedt and Burt Brewer

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
