The Planning Board will meet Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m., at Mallett Hall.

Pownal selectmen will meet Monday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m., in Mallett Hall.

A Planning Board workshop has been scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 8 a.m., in Mallett Hall. The board will continue its ongoing ordinance review/updating.

Supper to benefit food pantry

The North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road, will host a pasta supper to benefit the food pantry, Saturday, March 7, from 4:30-6 p.m. On the menu will be salad with dressing, chicken Alfredo with broccoli, spaghetti with meatballs, lasagna, baked macaroni and cheese, bread and beverage, and cupcakes and gingerbread for dessert. The cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children, with kids 4 and under free.

Pi celebration at Fuego Diablo

Fuego Diablo, 52 Loring Lane, has rescheduled its next music night to March 14, in recognition of International Pi Day. Pi is a mathematical symbol, and March 14, 2015, can be written out 3.14.15, the first five digits of the value of pi. The music night’s menu will all be based on pies – meat pies, veggie pies, American pies, etc. Those who have a deft hand at making pies, especially for dessert pies, are welcome to contribute one.

Performers of all ages and abilities are invited to take the stage at this intimate acoustic venue. A sign-up sheet is available and spontaneous collaborations are encouraged. Getting outside with Conservation Trust

Royal River Conservation Trust will hold its fifth Pisgah Hill Preserve March Full Moon Trek Friday evening, March 6, with bonfire and more, in New Gloucester, hosted by Terry DeWan and Nancy Wines-DeWan. With new trails, new kiosks and improved bridges on an expanded preserve, this trek gets improves every year. For more information, see www.rrct.org.

Coffee mug sales aid Project Graduation

Freeport High School Project Graduation is selling Dunkin’ Donuts Community Mugs. Those who buy a coffee mug for $20 can bring it into any neighborhood Dunkin’ Donuts in Maine and Coos and Carroll counties in New Hampshire and receive a free hot or iced coffee each Sunday. Food pantry on Wednesdays

The North Pownal United Methodist Church food Pantry on 851 Lawrence Road is now open every Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The pantry never knows from week to week what it will be getting. If any farmers or others would like to donate to the pantry, contact the Rev. Ray St. Pierre, 837-0682, or Deb Larrabee, 240-1637. The pantry helps those in need and welcomes everyone.

Men’s breakfast at church

The First Parish Church of Pownal hosts a men’s breakfast the first Saturday of each month at 7:30 a.m., open to any men who want to come. The Rev. John Wentworth leads the discussions.

North Pownal United Methodist Church worship service is Sunday at 9 a.m. Sunday School for children and adults is at 10:30 am. All are welcome. The Rev. Raymond St. Pierre is pastor.
