SACO — The Saco School Board is hosting a public forum for parents, staff and citizens Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. in the Young School Multi-Purpose Room.
Information will be shared on the physical state of Saco schools, to discuss the life expectancy of the Young School, and finally, to gather feedback from those attending.
After the forum, school officials plan on collating and sharing the information they gather with the general public.
The present Young School at 36 Tasker St. is a modular building that was installed in 2004. Eleven years ago it was intended as a temporary fix, but it is still in use today, and the school board would like to address the issue.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
