LISBON

Since its inception two years ago, Science Club at Phillip W. Sugg Middle School in Lisbon Falls has given its student participants a chance to get handson with science.

The club generally meets for two hours once a month, and offers a combination of theory with hands-on activities and experiements. Topics being covered by the club this year include electric motors, light and color, a day at the beach, and muscles and electricity.

A group of volunteers from the Maine School Science Volunteers present the activities to Science Club members. All MSSV volunteers are retired professionals from the field of science, including engineers and college professors.
