BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College junior Shannon Brady was named the Player of the Week by the New England Small College Athletic Conference, New England Women’s Basketball Association and Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association on Monday.
Brady had a fantastic weekend for the 24th-ranked Polar Bears (19-2), who knocked off sixth-ranked Amherst and concluded a perfect regular season home slate with a win over Trinity on Sunday.
On Saturday against the Jeffs, Brady scored a gamehigh 21 points, connecting on 10-of-17 shots, grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking a pair of shots in a nine-point win.
Versus the Bantams, she scored 14 of her game-high 18 points in the second half and added six boards with a pair of blocks.
For the week, she averaged 19.5 points and eight rebounds, and connected on 51.4-percent of her shots.
Winners of 16 straight games for the first time since 2006-07, the Polar Bears will return to action on Sunday at Middlebury for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
